I wish I could easily make groups of students so in the activity log, I could simply type @5thyears or @currenteventscommittee
Certain groups of students always work together or certain groups receive the same math lessons, so this could save a lot of time. In the "Children" tab, you could simply create a group based on any criteria of your choosing.
105 votesYou can now plan and record for groups of students! Read the below article to learn how to use groups in Transparent Classroom.

Tag children from other classes
I would like the ability to tag children from other classes. If we have pictures from before or aftercare, we are unable to tag those easily. During the summer, I reviewed my teacher's pictures to tag and was not able to do so because the children had been moved up to a new class.

Emails to parents should be sent from classroom email address, not a school email address
This would more easily allow a dialogue between parents and teachers, if parents choose to reply to the email,
88 votesYou can update the email address for notifications by going to [Admin] > [Notifications] > [Classroom Emails]. Once you have set classroom emails, you can then return to the [Notifications] page and select “Classroom email” instead of “School email”

Enable reports that show date lesson introduced and date mastered
As part of our inspections we need to generate reports showing when lessons were introduced and when they were mastered in order to show the average rate of time for progression etc.
It would be great if in the conference reports these dates could be included73 votesWe’re pleased to say that you can now generate reports that show the dates for which a child has received progress in lessons over a specified time window. You can find it by going to [Reports] > [Child Lesson Proficiency Over Time].
Any feedback is welcome! Please write in to info@transparentclassroom.com to let us know if this report works for you, or how it could be better. We carefully consider all feedback we receive.

Make Attendance Codes Customisable
Can we customise the attendance codes? Here in NSW Australia, we are required to report student attendance to the education board using their attendance codes. At this point we are keeping two records - TC AND our own register which adheres to the national education standards. I know the other Australia schools, particularly in NSW, will be in the same boat.
68 votesYou can customize your attendance types by going to [Admin] > [School Settings] > [Attendance] > [Customize attendance types].

Create Subsets of students
I want to create a subset of students. "All" includes the whole class. How can I make a "K Students" group?
66 votesYou can now record progress for groups or subsets of children. You can read more about how to use our new groups feature here:

Add a "start date" field
When I accept an applicant, I would like to have all forms completed by parents and have the child set up before the child appears on the roster. We have a lot of families who move into the area and want everything ready, but cannot start until a later date.

add a Monthly plan, so we can sort lessons by weeks (1st, 2nd, etc)
We've planned the lessons in sequences further ahead than a week, but the current plan options print out everything as if it were for 1 week.
It would be great to be able to drag/ assign lessons into future weeks plans, and print them by week.
If a lesson is not given or the plan changes, we can go back and reassign that lesson into the future. We love how it works, but we planned a bit ahead of a week and ended up printing the plan, cutting and sorting lessons by week and pasting them into different pages. (lessons…

Student ID# & Public Schools
Student ID# - Please make an auto fill widget for student ID# that can be added to progress reports so that public schools are in compliance with their district requirements.
45 votesThank you for this suggestion, I can see how this would be helpful. We have just created a new widget for Conference Reports and Forms that will pull a child’s Student ID from their profile onto the document.

A place to follow-up with follow-up work in the elementary.
Whether it is assigned follow-up or child generated, I would love a place where I could record the chosen work, the children involved and the due date. I am currently keeping track of this on paper, but it would be nice to have it here.
38 votesWe have implemented support for follow ups in the by-day plan. Let us know what you think!

Make the "Replan" function that appears on the daily lesson plan more accessible.
Currently, when you plan a lesson on the lessons page, a handy function appears to replan for a set group of students. As soon as you navigate away from the daily planner, this function disappears. Can you make it so these function stays and also add the "replan' function to other locations like the activity page?

Offer a way to generate conference reports for the whole class at once
Rather than having to generate conference reports individually for each child, it would be lovely to be able to generate reports for the entire class with one click.

Frozen column with lessons
We have about 55 students in our groups. When we want to record data into the "progress and plan" section, we cannot see all students. When we move to the right to look for more students, the lessons are not visible. It would be nice if the column with the lessons is frozen, so we can see it all the time.
28 votesHello! You may already have noticed, but we’ve added this feature, per your request. Let us know if you have any additional questions at info@transparentclassroom.com. Thanks!

Keep a lesson as Presented, even if it's the second time it's presented
Currently, if I give a lesson to a child a second or third time, I have to choose a key other than presented. I'd rather it show the history of the presentations and not show progress if there has not been substantiative progress.
Thank you

Customize proficiencies (Introduced/Practiced/Mastered/Needs More)
The ability to customize what the proficiencies are per school.
For example, you might want:
After a student is given a "masterable" lesson, there is oftena period of practicing, then proficiency, before I would feel comfortable marking "mastered".
The continuum I think of is " presented, practicing, proficient, mastered"
or presented, developing, proficient / mastered. is there a way I can change the key to fit my sense of observation / assessment?
Is the "needs more work" equivalent to "practicing"?
Also, what is the distinction between a "masterable" lesson and an "ongoing" one?24 votesThis is now possible by customizing your lesson scale. See the email we just sent out, or read our blog at blog.transparentclassroom.com for more info.

Download all photos to computer
It looks like I can only download one photo at a time to my computer. I would love to download all the photos at the same time and I don't think this is possible (?).
Also, it would be great to also be able to download 'new photos' (i.e. tag photos that have already been downloaded before by me so I can choose not to download them again).

Auto notification email to staff that new form has been submitted by parent
Alert the person who assigned a form to a parent that the parent has filled out a requested form instead of having to go to the child and see if it's been done.
17 votesHi there! It’s possible to customize which staff member receives the notification that a form has been received. To do that, go to [Admin] > [Notifications], and select the staff members name from the drop down menu next to “Form Received”. You can choose the school email address, the classroom email address, or a specific person’s email address. If you have any questions about that, don’t hesitate to reach out to info@transparentclassroom.com.
