  1. When using an iPad it would be nice to have a "reading" only mode so that when we scroll down we dont accidentally click on a lesson or change the status of a lesson. I was just trying to look through what all the kids are doing (I'm taking over a class and learning this new system) and any time I scrolled I accidentally clicked on multiple lessons and had to go back and undo a few of them. Thanks for allowing us to give feedback :)

  2. Sorting the photographs into Albums (of each child) on the photo page would be extremely helpful. It is also nice to have an area below/beside the photo to write about it.

  4. could we have a notes section in the lesson planning area - sometimes I want to give a "lesson" that is not an album lesson (e.g. making tea) and I do not want to add it to lessons because I do not want it to appear for the whole school

  5. As a Parent, I went to the FAQ to get some basic help, but it seems like the FAQ is all for the school or teachers who run Transparent Classroom

  6. For parents who bring multiple children (siblings, cousins, or just carpool friends) it would be nice if they could sign once for all children.

Possibly, after they choose one child, then "drop off" or "pick up," it could list all other children that adult is allowed to pick up, and ask "Would you also like to drop off/pick up these children?" The parent could tap any other children who are with them that day, then sign once for all of them.

  8. As a primary guide I plan not only for individual children, but for general groups that I can do at any time, with any children. And I would like a record of when and what I do in these groups, but I don't want to track this in relation to the individual children that may join my groups. During the last year of beginning to use TC I have printed out my lesson plans and then just added this group information by hand. However I've been transitioning to only using the iPad. Somehow I think it would be possible for…

  9. Progress + plan currently shows a grid of lessons x children. There should be a new page that shows standard/lessons x children.

It should show all the standards, with rows under each for the lesson that maps to that standard. The grid should show the children's proficiency in the mapped levels across the classroom.

To make this work, we might also need to filter standards by grade groups.

  10. When you go to the lesson page, it should show you all the standards mapped to that lesson. We should only show standards that the school cares about.

  13. I am trying out the new lesson plan feature (just learned about it at NAMTA, and am excited to give it a try!). So one idea to enhance it could be if the subject area texts were color-coded. Then at a glance one could see how the balance is in subject areas each day, (such as yikes, all math on Tuesday! )and then make it easier to adjust the flow accordingly as one wishes.

Thank you for all that you're doing to make it easier for us!

  14. I would love to see the Classroom Placement tool modified to include an age with gender view to help be sure that all of the 4 year olds in a class aren't boys (or girls) so that there are generally the same number of each gender within each age set.

  16. Make it possible to view the lessons that were given on a specific date or range of dates by jumping straight to it. Currently, you must scroll through all the posts to find the correct date. When needing to enter a lesson that may have been missed being entered in the past, you then have to scroll to the top of the Activity page to enter, then scroll back down to the date/date range you were searching for.

  17. It is good to see all the lessons, but would be great for parents (and maybe teachers?) to see just those lessons that have already been presented, rather than searching through 300 items.

  18. It looks clunky and is tedious to wade through @thirty_children every time I am texted a photo or message for the entire class. Can you prevent these tags from showing up in the text message?

  20. When I teach math, I have certain groups based on ability, as I do with word study. Having those names next to each other in their columns helps with the efficiency of planning, but they are not the same names I'd like to to have grouped together in language because children high in one area are often low in the other. It'd be great if the order the names appear could be set differently for each subject and saved that way.
