Add Administrative Tracking Options on each Child's Page
It would be nice to add customized buttons such as Lunch, Emergency Card, Medical Form, etc. to track if a child has submitted all the appropriate forms to the office. It would make the Admin part of Transparent Classroom so much easier and would require a separate program to track the information.
7 votesI think this is done for the fields that we support, like emergency contacts, allergies, etc. For a quick look at what forms are outstanding, I suggest going to [Children] > [Forms]

Keep a lesson as Presented, even if it's the second time it's presented
Currently, if I give a lesson to a child a second or third time, I have to choose a key other than presented. I'd rather it show the history of the presentations and not show progress if there has not been substantiative progress.
Thank you

Emails to parents should be sent from classroom email address, not a school email address
This would more easily allow a dialogue between parents and teachers, if parents choose to reply to the email,
88 votesYou can update the email address for notifications by going to [Admin] > [Notifications] > [Classroom Emails]. Once you have set classroom emails, you can then return to the [Notifications] page and select “Classroom email” instead of “School email”

Sort Children by Last Name
It would be nice to reorder or sort children in the class lists by their last name instead of by their first name. Everything else we do is ordered by last name first and then the child's first name.

issue
i am new and want to use the tour feature, but..... the box that opens which then tells me what i can do on that page then encourages me to try it now by clicking on a box below..... Well, the only box below is Next which doesn't allow me to try it, it would seem that the instructions need to be refined to be more specific when giving directions.
1 voteMaybe we should change the wording. We just mean click on the square in the grid below.
Go ahead and try it!

can you fix sign out error
Our parents signed their children out today, but none registered on Transparent Classroom. I signed everyone out at the end of the day. Is there another way I can retrieve the parents signatures?
1 votelet’s move this to email.

Add a "passed over" or "not applicable" proficiency
Let's say I have a child that has already mastered long multiplication, but never did, say, flat bead frame. I'd like to be able to block out flat bead frame on her progress page, so it doesn't look like a gap-to-be-filled-in, while also making clear that she never did the work (but no longer has a reason to do it).
2 votesnow that proficiencies are customizable, you can add this yourself!

on the Meetings page for an individual child, have the lesson box's dropdown only show children for whom the lesson is already planned.
I stumbled onto the 'Meetings' tab on the pages for individual Children. I LOVE that this could potentially be the bridge from recording student conferences to planning a balanced week of lessons for that child while simultaneously planning for the whole week for the class. I am so stoked!
I came across several bugs, however, when trying to use the Meetings page and dragging lessons to certain days. It would help a TON if the dropdown inside a lesson box only listed children that are already planned to receive it, with an option to type in a new name if…
3 votesNot exactly what you asked for, but thanks for the feedback. You now get a much easier to use dropdown and you can see which children have the lesson planned and choose them or children that don’t have the lesson planned. Check it out!

Be able to record "improving" or "working on" for all lessons
For the sake of making lesson lists more useful for parent conference reports, please add the ability to record that a child has worked on a lesson. Otherwise, I end up reporting "multiplication" every single conference without showing any progression or reporting "needs work", which suggests a problem.
3 votesThis is now possible by customizing your lesson scale. See the email we just sent out, or read our blog at blog.transparentclassroom.com for more info.

Have a default conference report selection by level
We have created a conference report form for each level - toddlers, CH, lower el and upper el. When a teacher goes in to create a conference report, if they aren't paying attention it is easy for them to create a report for the wrong level since it defaults to children's house for every teacher. Can we somehow indicate which level each form is for so that when a CH teacher creates a conf report, it defaults to the right report for them?
1 voteOur current answer for this is to show the last conference report created for the child. It’s not a complete solution, but getting a more complete solution correct would be very complicated and possibly confusing.

Great idea, it’s done! Go to Children → Conference Reports, and click Print All.

Make it possible to split one lesson into multiple groups of children
As an elementary guide, I often give a lesson to several different small groups. In order to make the "by day" lesson plan work, it would be really helpful to be able to split on lesson into two groups of children, scheduled for different days/times.
4 votesThis is now done. You can drag a child to a new day, or add the same lesson on a new day and “gather” the child to it by selecting the child from the dropdown.

list birthdates under age
It would be great to have fast access to birthdates when you click on a child's profile. I suggest listing them directly under the age.

App for Transparent Classroom is gone from app store
Hey Jeremy,
I don't know if Marissa told you or not, but yesterday we deleted the app from the I pad because it still wasn't letting us sign in with our e-mail and password. After we deleted the app we tried to find it in the app store and it said that there was no name found under transparent classroom. I didn't know if you know why that is or if you could help me to get it back.
Thanks so much!!
~Hillary~1 voteActually, it is in the app store. I believe it’s listed as an iPhone app, so you have to search for iPhone apps not just iPad apps when you’re looking for it from an iPad. Let me know if you can’t find it that way.

view as
Have a view as feature so that you can see what a specific parent might see when they login.
1 voteAs an admin, you can now click “Login As” on any parent or teacher.

Make the flag automatically disappear if we mark a lesson as given.
That way we know it's been given and if we want to represent, we can purposely mark over a yellow or orange mark.
Many thanks for the changes that you made on the progress and plan pages -- i've been so busy lately I didn't get to email you until now. sorry!
1 voteActually, this already works this way. When you record a lesson, it removes the flag.

Notification of Changes to Parent Vital Info
It would be VERY useful to be notified, either by email or a "pop-up" of some sort anytime a change is made to the parent, emergency contact, authorized pick up list. This would make sure that the information is current and that staff are aware of any changes.
5 votesIt’s not an email, but there is a page that now shows you parent changes. Go to “Admin” → “Changes” to see what’s happened. For now, you could add it to someone’s weekly process to just have a look at that page for any changes.
