list birthdates under age
It would be great to have fast access to birthdates when you click on a child's profile. I suggest listing them directly under the age.

Add an "All Children" option on the lesson planning page.
I sometimes do a full group lesson and it would be easier to record it from the lesson planning page if I could simply type out "All Children" like we can do for photo tagging.

contrast
Really really. The text in this app needs to be in much greater contrast to the background. This is causing me a lot of trouble.

arranging groups within a group
I’m a brand new TC user, so I don’t have my app-specific vocabulary down yet…. but here goes.
I have created a new category in the lessons tab: pre-algebra. Inside that category, I have listed a number of individual lessons, as well as several subgroups that each include several lessons.
What I notice is that the app automatically moves these subgroups to the top of the list. This causes the subgroups to be out of sequential order in relation to the whole list of lessons.
I can rearrange the individual lessons within where they are gathered, and I can rearrange…

Make it possible to split one lesson into multiple groups of children
As an elementary guide, I often give a lesson to several different small groups. In order to make the "by day" lesson plan work, it would be really helpful to be able to split on lesson into two groups of children, scheduled for different days/times.
4 votesThis is now done. You can drag a child to a new day, or add the same lesson on a new day and “gather” the child to it by selecting the child from the dropdown.

Change terminology of toilet daily tracking
On the second column the choices would be:
Declined
Tried
Urinated
Bowel movementThe term "wet" doesn't seem to accurately describe urination. If they are using the potty or toilet they would not be getting wet, hopefully. :). Also the boys do not always sit so simplifying the subject would also help.
In the first column BM could also be expanded to bowel movement.

Add Gender Choice "Unknown" on the Application
We receive applications for infants who have not been born yet and the gender is sometimes unknown. Please add the option to choose "unknown" in addition to "M" or "F".
Thank you.
3 votesYou can manually write in “Unknown” for a child’s gender by choosing “Other” and then typing in the word “Unknown.”
We could “Unknown” as a separate field, but we believe giving an “Other” option covers your use case.
Feel free to reach out to us if you have further questions or would like to explain how the “Other” option does not address your needs.

Planned lessons be marked unplanned after given
I assumed that after a planned lesson has been presented, and marked as such, that it would automatically be seen as unplanned. Would that change be possible?

let information from one form populate other forms
for example, contact info can be entered automatically everywhere once it has been updated; basic information about one child can populate the same form about another child in the same family; parents can update as needed and teachers/staff can anticipate where responses should be different so those aren't carried over

Conference Report - lesson list with proficencies limited to one section
For infants it is important to track their milestones, which I would like to do with the lessons functionality. I would like ONLY the "Milestones" lessons to be shown on conferences. Showing all the lessons presented becomes overwhelming.
Being able to limit which section of lessons for reporting to parents would allow me to create lesson lists with this in mind.

Left sidebar icon labels
I would expect some sort of hover text or labels or something to indicate what the icons on the left hand sidebar represent. It's not very obvious from the icons themselves (they've also changed since the last time I looked at transparentclassroom which doesn't help - granted it's been a long time since I've looked).
3 voteswe tweaked a couple things on the left hand labels. how is it working for you now?

Direct link to sign in page for parents
Currently when parents receive a notification of a form, it only links them to transparentclassroom.com instead of providing a link that goes one step further and makes it quicker and easier for parents to sign in.
3 votesThe email now takes them directly to the form. If they aren’t signed in, they will be redirected to the sign in page.

Be able to record "improving" or "working on" for all lessons
For the sake of making lesson lists more useful for parent conference reports, please add the ability to record that a child has worked on a lesson. Otherwise, I end up reporting "multiplication" every single conference without showing any progression or reporting "needs work", which suggests a problem.
3 votesThis is now possible by customizing your lesson scale. See the email we just sent out, or read our blog at blog.transparentclassroom.com for more info.

Do not share parents' private information with their class, before they log in to TC for the first time.
Please do NOT share a parent's private information until after they log in for the first time.
When a parent logs in for the first time, they get a chance to check "Do Not Share" next to their personal information. However, if they have been invited, but never logged in, other parents can see their email, phone number, and address.
In our case, this was private information entrusted to our school when they filled out the application form. It shouldn't be disseminated to other parents without their consent.
I can edit each parent as soon as I invite them and…

make it possible to list the first lesson and then...
And then be able to list the following exercises or memory games or lessons that follow indented or they would only come up when you click on that lesson. It would make looking for the lessons a lot easier. The list would be much shorter.
3 votesDone. When a lesson has a “:” in the name, like #NumberRods:IntroductionToQuantity, only NumberRods: will show up when you are typing it. If you hit tab, enter, or “:”, then you will see the lessons within NumberRods.
This only happens on the autocomplete when entering a post, it does NOT happen on the child progress page, the lesson planning page, or child lesson page where we are showing a list of all lessons.

on the Meetings page for an individual child, have the lesson box's dropdown only show children for whom the lesson is already planned.
I stumbled onto the 'Meetings' tab on the pages for individual Children. I LOVE that this could potentially be the bridge from recording student conferences to planning a balanced week of lessons for that child while simultaneously planning for the whole week for the class. I am so stoked!
I came across several bugs, however, when trying to use the Meetings page and dragging lessons to certain days. It would help a TON if the dropdown inside a lesson box only listed children that are already planned to receive it, with an option to type in a new name if…
3 votesNot exactly what you asked for, but thanks for the feedback. You now get a much easier to use dropdown and you can see which children have the lesson planned and choose them or children that don’t have the lesson planned. Check it out!

Auto save for toilet daily tracking
Auto save the data from the drop down menu as soon as it is entered. Example: when "sat + wet" is selected it saves immediately instead of requiring the save button be applied.
