A way to move a group from one Area into its own Area, or as a group in another Area
For example, I have so many items under the Language Cards group in the Language Area that I would like to make it its own Area
1 voteThe new lesson editor lets you move lessons and groups. Check it out!

order of lesson plan lists
For a few recent weeks, the lesson plan list for each child had the lessons listed in the order of the categories - practical life, sensorial, language, math, etc. Now the categories have moved around at the top of the chart, and the lesson plans are mixed up again. Please fix!

the iphone app: fix!
fix it please. it duplicates, it is incredibly slow. What does the red mean? The blue line moves across but it does not upload. I have four photos from Friday that have not uploaded. Very frustrating.
I did install the improved app. What were the improvements?
2 votesSeems like this is done! If you are still having issues, please contact me. I did work with one teacher that had to reinstall her iPhone app (thus deleting the pictures that were “stuck”) but that fixed it for her.

add a digest or weekly report option for parents
I am concerned that the parents may get overwhelmed by all the emails, all the information. I am actually currently surveying the parents and asking for feedback. But then it occurred to me that, like a google group, a digest format would be excellent.

help! too many "Application Errors"
Just trying to save some lessons in the grid, and twice in a row, i got this message and lost everything I just entered: Application Error
An error occurred in the application and your page could not be served. Please try again in a few moments. If you are the application owner, check your logs for details.
1 voteThink we figured this one out… Sorry again.
Jude,
That is terrible. I’m sorry you lost work that you did. That’s the opposite of what Transparent Classroom is supposed to do for you.
I’ll be looking into this tonight. I have some ideas of what could have caused it. I’ll update you very soon.

Make the Lessons listed under each child interactive
When you click on a child, there is a clear easy to read list with all the lessons next to a circle, I find this easier to see than the the grid. I would like to be able to enter my lessons given here.

I would like to un-record a lesson given.
I would like to be able to go in and un-record a lesson given. Right now the lesson is one that I want to delete because I don't really want to have a lesson for stringing small beads and another for large beads, but I can't delete because it was recorded and saved for one child.
1 voteYou should now be able to “archive” any lesson. If it has been given, you will be able to view “archived” lessons and see it.
This is a known frustration. Eventually “delete” should put lessons in a recycle bin and work even if a child has had that lesson. However, today, the work around is to go to the lesson you gave to that one child and delete it, or change it to a different lesson. Once that’s done, you can delete the lesson.

Email Digest
To reduce email clutter, it would be great if there was an email digest mode like many email lists have. Each day all the notes for that day are collected and sent as one email.
This does bring up the question of when the digest would be sent.
I like to be able to use the notes posted by the teachers to start conversations with my kids. Sometimes it's the only way to get them started. So it would be nice to have the notes available from that day in the afternoon. Ideally, the time would be part of the…1 vote -
Enhanced email for parents with multiple children
I have two children at the same school. When there is an update from a group doing something i get two emails, one for each child. It would be great if in these situations only one email sent that listed both children.

More description of the designations on the Lessons page. M,N,P and I
The difference between introduced, needs more and practiced is unclear to the parents visiting the site. A legend with a short description or a describing blurb in the rollover text might help. Introduced and needs more for instance would seem to be the same thing to most people.

Inviting Grandparents
I remember at the introduction to the website that we would be able to invite others to the website. I would like to invite my son's grandparents to see his progress in school. Please elaborate on how I can accomplish this task.
1 voteSure. Talk to your school, and ask them to create a invite a “family member” to see your child. They will just need the grandparents’ name + email. Let them know they can reach out to us if they have any questions.

Give us ways to enter that we are giving a re-presentation (a repeated lesson)
or a memory game or following exercise or a ..... We need some way to record miscellaneous observations that can be retrieved later for parent-teacher conference notes.
6 votesWe have a feature coming that will let you save observations + pictures in a child’s “portfolio”. We now have portfolios! So anything that you want to come up at conference report time, just star it after you write it. You can go to the child’s portfolio to see what those notes were before filling out conference reports.

Lesson plans
I tried my first lesson plan this week. Question: why does it list the checked lessons in such totally random order for each child? Why not pl, then sensorial, then language, then math in the list? It is much harder to quickly glance and use, than it could be.
1 voteThis is done! Thanks for the feedback.

photo blues
Several glitches with uploading photos:
I did find the update for iPhone and installed today. So I tried uploading 5 photos. Two of them will not go through - just sit there red on the screen.
So then I just tried uploading a few photos from my iCloud photostream, to see if that will work better. Got this message: Application Error
An error occurred in the application and your page could not be served. Please try again in a few moments. If you are the application owner, check your logs for details.
1 voteThis is a duplicate – will look at…
I’m sorry you’re having such a hard time of it today. One thing to try on the iphone app. If you click the button with the 2 arrows on the top right of the screen (refresh) does it go ahead and upload the 2 red pictures? It’s meant to be a way to retry pictures that fail. Not sure why they failed in the first place. We’ll be doing more testing here.

app uploads of photos - problems
Fist day with app. When I try to upload photos, when one photo completes, the app crashes and then the photo duplicates itself, sometimes. And it doesn't upload when you're outside the app. Do you have a written tutorial for the app, please? Because this is not working well. (I have an iPhone 5)
1 voteJude,
You’re in luck…hopefully. We’ve been hard at work on the iPhone app, and Apple just approved the new version for sale. Upgrade it and let us know how it goes. We really want to know if you see any new problems with the new version of it.

Buttons for groups within areas
Scrolling on our iPads is very slow. If there were buttons for groups within each area across the top or on the side, it would go much faster. You were right - printing the lesson records did not work- no names at the top! So we have resigned ourselves to using the iPad for looking up lessons given. Thanks for your help. Btw, on my iPad, it never remembers me. I have to type everything in every time.
1 voteTake a look. I didn’t add buttons but I made it way faster to scroll on iPad. Does this fix it for you?

Lesson plans page is not working for us
I've hit the SAVE button 3 times in a row and I get a window saying "The page you were looking for doesn't exist. You....
I've put in a considerable about of time creating lesson plans and very frustrated that it won't save it and create the lesson plan grid. Please help!!
1 voteThis is working now. Sorry for the hiccup. Looks like we didn’t handle deleting a lesson that had been in a lesson plan correctly. your data is now fixed, and I’ll fix the root cause bug this week.

I would like Transparent Classroom to automatically save what has been entered without using the SAVE button.
After recording lessons or the progress of children in Children's Progress, I would like the program to automatically save what was entered when you switch pages or close the page. I have lost a lot of recordkeeping and continue to lose it because I try to do something on another page in the middle of recording.
1 voteWe now warn when you leave a child progress or lesson plan page
